Quantitative single cell phenotypic imaging of multicellular systems
Growth is a fundamental phenotype of all cells, yet it is poorly understood due to lack of measurements at the single cell level. I will develop new optical instrumentation and methods to measure quantitatively the growth rate of individual cells in multicellular systems and a multitude of molecular and functional data in order to understand what influences cell growth rate and the origin of cell heterogeneity, especially in the context of cancer.
