A Bacterial Chassis to Convert Electricity and Carbon Dioxide into Sustainable Fuels
The goal of this project is to combine carbon dioxide and electricity to produce sustainable fuels using genetically modified bacteria. The resulting technology will have the dual benefits of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and storing excess electricity produced by wind and solar processes. This proposal represents a novel approach to this technology, which is to reverse the metabolism of a bacterium that naturally generates electricity.
