October is Archives Month, a nationwide celebration of history.
The Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation is celebrating Archives Month in October with a poster designed to share about Beckman history through the theme California in the 1970s!
Our poster features three images from the Beckman Foundation Collection that highlight vibrant stories of California and touch on moments related to science, technology, feminism, leadership, culture, fashion, industrialism, entrpreneurship, and beyond, featuring Dr. Beckman and other team members whose work embodied the theme of California in the 1970s!
In 2006, October was designated as California’s Archives Month by then-Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as part of a nationwide, month-long celebration in which archives and archivists share history and their collections with patrons. It coincides with American Archives Month, established by the Society of American Archivists.
