2017 BYI Bo Wang, PhD named 2026 Schmidt Science Polymath
Congratulations to Bo Wang, PhD, Associate Professor of Bioengineering at Stanford University for being one of only eight 2026 Polymaths named by Schmidt Sciences. This award recognizes leading scientists making ambitious leaps beyond their established areas of research and provides up to $2.5 million over five years to pursue bold new lines of inquiry.
Dr. Wang will explore why warm-bloodedness evolved separately in birds and mammals and how the systems that regulate body temperature shaped the nervous system, metabolism and immune function.
