Five Beckman Awardees on the Forbes' 250 America's Greatest Innovators List

To celebrate America's 250th birthday, Forbes Magazine has published its lists of America's Greatest Innovators, honoring inventors who created the technology, culture and business models that shape our present. Dr. Arnold Beckman was recognized as #74 on the list of America's Greatest 250 Historic Innovators, citing that his revolutionary Beckman Instruments, like the pH meter and oxygen sensors, built standard tools for labs.

Additionally, FIVE Beckman Awardees were recognized on the top 250 Living Innovators list (pictured above, l to r):

  • Nobel Laureate and 1995 BYI David Baker, PhD: Transformed biotechnology from art to engineering with programmable proteins
  • 2003 BYI Xiaowei Zhuang, PhD: Commercialized visualization tools used to map and cure disease
  • Nobel Laureate and 1998 BYI Carolyn Bertozzi, PhD: Unlocked chemistry grounding her 12-plus companies' next-generation cancer treatments
  • 2008 BSP Zach Perret: Co-founded Plaid and laid the plumbing connecting fintechs to traditional banks
  • Nobel Laureate and 1996 BYI Jennifer Doudna, PhD: Developed CRISPR gene editing and cofounded nearly a dozen biotechs
