Max Planck Director Erin Schuman Awarded Körber European Science Prize

Max Planck Director Erin Schuman, PhD (1996 BYI) was awarded prestigious Körber European Science Prize. Her pioneering research has revolutionized our understanding of how neurons, the brain's individual cells, function. She discovered that proteins, essential for cell communication, memory storage, and brain development, are locally produced at the synapses between neurons. Building on these findings, she plans to use the Körber Prize funds to investigate disease-related changes in neuronal proteins, paving the way for new therapy options.
