Schmidt Sciences Designates BYIs Ashleigh Theberge and Lawrence David as Polymath Program Awardees

Two Beckman Young Investigators alumni have been selected to receive up to $2.5 million over five years as part of the Schmidt Sciences Polymath Program. Ashleigh Theberge, PhD (2018 BYI) will explore the potential of tailoring drug treatments and doses based on individual biochemistry to map molecular pathways at the cellular level. Lawrence David, PhD (2015 BYI) will seek new genomics methods to uncover healthier, more sustainable diets and food systems. Only six Polymaths were selected this year for their boundary-pushing work to achieve scientific breakthroughs and their ideas for future projects.
