James Bour, PhD (2019 AOB Postdoc) has won a 5-year grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Maximizing Investigators’ Research Award (MIRA) (R35) for his project titled: "Materials and Macromolecules Tailored for Micro and Nanoscale Organic Synthesis." Congratulations to the Bour Lab, what a great way to start the new year!

Robert Gilliard, PhD (2021 BYI) is also thrilled to receive a new R35 MIRA award to support him and the Gilliard group with their work on the development of far-red and near-infrared emitting boracyles as deep-tissue penetrating photoactive agents!

Maximizing Investigators’ Research Award (MIRA) provides support for research in an investigator's laboratory that falls within the mission of the National Institute of General Medical Sciences which supports basic research that increases our understanding of biological processes and lays the foundation for advances in disease diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
