Mr. Haytham Henry Effarah, BS

  • Award Recipient

Research Summary

Haytham Effarah is interested in developing laser-Compton X-ray sources and studying their applications in diagnostic medical imaging and radiation therapy. Haytham's exploration of diagnostics began with his Beckman Scholar research under the mentorship of Dr. Annaliese Franz. Though his interests have shifted from organic chemistry to optical physics, his passion for translational research has persisted.

Being given the opportunity to pursue independent research as an undergraduate through the Beckman Scholar program gave me the confidence and skills to become the scientist I am today. I am truly honored to have been an awardee, and I am further honored to be conducting research at the Beckman Laser Institute in UC Irvine as I pursue my MD and PhD degrees.
