About the OC Science and Engineering Fair
The Orange County Science and Engineering Fair (OCSEF) is a nonprofit educational organization that has promoted science and engineering in Orange County since 1955. The educators, scientists, and engineers who volunteer their services are committed to educating, guiding, and motivating students to engage in project-based learning in all fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to be college and career ready in the 21st century.
Winners of the OCSEF go on to compete in the CA State Science and Engineering Fair and the International Science and Engineering Fair.
The Foundation provides support to recognize and reward top students in each category:
- 10 Beckman-Chapman Award winners receive $100 prize and an opportunity to work with digital arts majors at Chapman University to refine their poster designs
- Top 4 projects overall are entered into the International Science and Engineering Fair, with travel and logistical costs supported by the Foundation
