Fresh off the company’s financial success of 1939, Dr. Arnold O. Beckman entered the new decade by taking out a bank loan for National Technical Laboratories’ first custom-built plant, a 12,000-square-foot facility to be located in South Pasadena at 820 Mission Street (shown above, ca. 1940).
